Final Call for RealYoung 2016

It is important to make quality documentaries for children, which is why a year ago The Financing Forum in collaboration with EDN (European Documentary Network) and IDFA started the project called RealYoung.

RealYoung is a 3-step program focusing on documentary stories for younger audiences. Here you can develop, present and network with the aim of bringing your next kids or youth documentary across borders to an international audience.

In Finland, a similar initiative has been started by The Finnish Film Foundation, YLE and AVEK, who have launched the new Kids@Docs initiative aimed at supporting the production and distribution of documentary films for kids. The initiative headed by AVEK Film Commissioner Outi Rousu will select four projects – both linear and non-linear - that will receive single grants of €60,000. You can read more about the application process here: Kids@Docs

Outi Rousu will also be a part of the Forum in 2016, where she will contribute to the RealYoung initiative and enlighten all those who wish to apply for Kids@Docs on how to do so.Remember that you can still apply for RealYoung:

Deadline is the 15th of January

Read more about the criteria here: RealYoung 2016
We invite you to join us with your idea for an innovative documentary intended for younger audiences!
